Yumi Ijiri and Student Present at International Conference
Feb. 6, 2013
Professor of Physics Yumi Ijiri and junior Chetan Poudel ’14, along with collaborators from the Cleveland Clinic, presented their work at the 12th Joint Magnetism and Magnetic Materials-Intermag Conference held January 14-18, 2013, in Chicago. Their paper, entitled “Inverted linear Halbach array for separation of magnetic nanoparticles,” describes a novel method for purifying small particles, particularly in light of biomedical applications. Ijiri also served as treasurer for the triennial conference which brings together approximately 1,600 scientists and engineers studying magnetism.
