Exciting upcoming opportunity offered by the Oberlin Doula Collective and the Oberlin Sexual Information Center! We are currently accepting applications for new volunteer abortion doulas!
An abortion doula is someone who provides emotional, physical, and informational support to patients experiencing abortion - before, during and after their abortion procedures. You may have heard the word "doula" when referring to childbirth - abortion doulas are similar, but they help to guide and advocate for people going through a different yet often equally significant outcome of pregnancy. This work is extremely important, especially in a political climate that continues to stigmatize and criminalize full-spectrum reproductive healthcare.
This training is FREE, and will take place on Saturday, April 6th from 9am-5pm. Breakfast, lunch, and childcare will be provided. There will also be a FREE pre-training dinner on Friday, April 5th from 6-7:30pm.
APPLY NOW, and forward this along to your circles! Applications are due this SUNDAY MARCH 17th. Please apply using this LINK: goo.gl/brMs4N
We are accepting applications from folks of ALL ages, ALL backgrounds, and ALL experience levels. We strongly encourage people of color, Indigenous people; people with dis/abilities; trans or gender non-conforming people; queer-identified people; people born outside the USA; Spanish speakers; people living with HIV/AIDS; and people of faith to apply. You do not need to be a documented USA citizen in order to apply.
