Part Time Development Specialist Needed

KENDAL AT OBERLIN Development Specialist – Part-time

Kendal at Oberlin, Lorain County’s premier life plan community serving older adults, has a 30-60 hours/ month FLEXIBLE POSITION available for a Development Specialist. This position requires past experience in fund development and grant writing, proficiency in computer software such as Microsoft Office and other media. Emphasis on modeling Kendal’s Values and Practices (see Kendal website) in the job.

This position serves to customize the support of Kendal at Oberlin by implementing an appropriate “Culture of Philanthropy.” Responsible to work with board committee and executive staff in seeking grant opportunities, implementing an annual appeal and legacy event, planned giving options, and periodic major gifts to further our charitable mission.

The ideal candidate will have a college degree in business or related area, and a passion for working with nonprofit organizations. This position’s flexible work hours may attract a senior-level or younger professional individual with past experience in development seeking a part-time opportunity. Work site will vary with flexibility for both home and on-site requirements.

The candidate will excel in reading, writing, verbal skills, and establishing interpersonal relationships. Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills are also required. The candidate must have a working knowledge of all applicable federal, state and local laws affecting the fund­raising function and will be an adept and hands-on user of software with ability to learn DonorPerfect.

Kendal at Oberlin Dining Room Attendants

KENDAL AT OBERLIN PART-TIME AND ON-CALL DINING ROOM ATTENDANTS

Kendal at Oberlin has Part-time and PRN (on-call) lunch-time positions available for Dining Room Attendants in our Stephens Care Center dining room, Friends Corner. Responsibilities include providing wait service for residents and guests, and assists with food preparation and sanitation of the dining area and food handling as assigned. This job includes working rotating holidays and weekends.

Ability to read, write, and understand spoken English is required along with displaying a helpful and courteous presentation at all times. Appearance must be clean and neat. Must have pleasant personality and able to work well with everyone, with excellent attendance and dependability. Full duties and responsibilities are detailed in the position description.
