“LOSE YOUR MARBLES,” A DANCE-CENTRIC FRINGE FESTIVAL: Presented by Neos Dance Theatre with funding from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation as part of its Knight Arts Challenge, the fringe festival takes its name from Akron’s legacy as the birthplace of toy marble-making automation. “With Akron’s reputation for dance, and audiences hungry for it, the city is a perfect platform for a festival that showcases new and emerging artists,” said Victoria Rogers, vice president for arts at Knight Foundation. Neos Dance Theatre wants audiences to celebrate artistic movement through a dance-centric fringe festival called “Lose Your Marbles" with area dance companies. This year's one day festival on March 1st at Akron's Civic Theatre will feature Groundworks Dance Theatre, Inlet Dance Theatre, Neos Dance Theatre, and Verb Ballets. Don't miss the best our region boasts in contemporary ballet and dance!

GET OUTSIDE THIS SUNDAY WHILE IT'S 50 DEGREES!

INTO THE WOODS WE GO!

DON'T LET THE WINTER KEEP YOU INDOORS! Join us for a cold conditioning hike throughout the South Chagrin Reservation! (Appoximately 1 hr drive) Find out why thousands of people have been doing this and why so many are catching the wave now. FEB 3, 10th and 17th 11:00 a.m.

Wait! What? Why!? The cold is your warm friend. Exposing your body to it in the right way starts a cascade of health benefits, including the buildup of brown adipose tissue and subsequent fat loss, reduced inflammation to facilitate a fortified immune system, balanced hormone levels, improved sleep quality, and the production of endorphins - the feel-good chemicals in the brain that naturally elevate your mood. Armed with focus and determination you are ready to explore and eventually master your own body and mind.

How this Event Works! Bring all the clothes you would like! We will teach you breathing, movement, and mindset exercises to help you endure throughout the conditioning. Everyone will carry their own winter gear and take layers off as you are comfortable. So bring a big back pack, and pack it good! Even if you wish to do the whole hike in shorts, we highly recommend bringing extra clothes just in case.

The trail is close to our cars. We have hiked this trail many times to keep you feeling comfortable and safe. We ask you to just try it out.

Matthew has been cold training for over two years now and Kamalika has been for five. They both have amazing transformation stories, and both study the Wim Hoff Method diligently. Matthew has taken an advanced level course in Indiana and they both participated in a workshops with Wim Hoff in New York City.

Donation of $20 is suggested for participation of each event date.
