Join other Oberlin College students in making math fun for children.
The Du Bois Fraction Club uses running, games, simple psychology and enthusiastic college students like you to induce children to attack math challenges at their level. Offering praise when they complete a challenge helps make math fun for them and start a virtuous cycle of accomplishment -> satisfaction and self confidence -> harder challenges -> greater accomplishment. Our Fraction Clubs for the spring will be:
Wednesdays 12:20 – 3:00 PM (We can use help from 1:20 - 3:00 PM if you can't be there at 12:20 PM)
Thursdays 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM
Fridays 1:20 – 3:50 PM
The Du Bois Project helps underrepresented minorities and children from low socioeconomic families achieve and maintain excellence in the Oberlin Public Schools by helping them learn to enjoy math.
