Mindful Self-Compassion – an introductory workshop

A free workshop at Solaluna Yoga on Tuesday, December 11th, 7–8:30 p.m.

This workshop provides an introduction to Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), an 8-week, 9-session course I'll be offering at Solaluna beginning on January 15th. MSC is an empirically-supported training program designed to cultivate the skill of self-compassion. It teaches core principles and practices that enable participants to respond to difficult moments in their lives with kindness, care, and understanding. Anyone can learn self-compassion, and the research shows that it is strongly associated with greater emotional wellbeing, less anxiety, depression, and stress, maintenance of healthy habits such as diet and exercise, and satisfying personal relationships.

The workshop will be a mix of short talks, experiential exercises, discussion, and an introductory meditation. No previous experience with mindfulness or meditation is required.

No registration is necessary for this workshop. And both the introductory workshop and the course are compatible with a wide range of religious and spiritual orientations, and with having no religious or spiritual orientation.
