Issue Printing from Windows to iPrint - 8/11/2017 - 12:12 PM
Aug. 14, 2017
Some Windows users are currently experiencing intermittent problems printing through iPrint. Some applications such as Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer will throw an error while others applications print OK. When the error occurs, the iPrint client will return a "Data submission failed" error. CIT is currently working with the vendor to troubleshoot the issue.
In the meantime, Windows users experiencing issues should reinstall their printers using the manual iPrint setup method located on the CIT Wiki.
Update (8/14/2017 3:45 PM): CIT has identified a two-part solution to resolve the issue, requiring an immediate update to both the iPrint server and individual end user clients. CIT will perform the server update tonight at 10:00 PM.
Tomorrow morning, August 15, faculty and staff will need to update their computer’s iPrint client in order to resume printing. Mac users should follow the steps on the CIT Wiki to download and install the new version (https://citwiki.oberlin.edu/index.php/IPrint#Install_the_iPrint_Client). Windows users will receive an automatic update and do not need to take any additional action.
For more assistance with this process, please call the CIT Help Desk at x58197.
Update (8/31/17): This issue has been resolved.
