Comparative Literature Call for Papers

Calling All Oberlin Student Translators! We are now soliciting submissions for the 2017 Annual Oberlin College Student Translation Symposium.For over a decade, the translation symposium has been the intellectual and creative high point of the Oberlin academic year. It is a fast-paced, multilingual event that introduces and celebrates literary works from over a dozen languages.

Send your submission by 4:30 pm, Sunday, March 26 by e-mail to: jdeppman@oberlin.edu and poconnor@oberlin.edu

Submissions should include: A brief original language text (poetry or prose) with reference to source. Your original translation into English.

Symposium Details: Each participant will have five minutes to do three things: read the original, read the translation, comment on the translation process. Students will be notified on March 29.

The Symposium is at 5 pm, Wednesday, April 5, Science Center, Craig Auditorium.

Students selected as participants will be invited to lunch on April 6 with keynote lecturer Gail Ramshaw.
