Dahl Philosophy Prize
March 16, 2017
The Department of Philosophy, Oberlin College, announces the Dahl Philosophy Prize, to be given for the best undergraduate essay in philosophy submitted. Essays may be on any philosophical topic, and there are no restrictions as to length. They will be judged on the basis of philosophical insight, cogency of argument, and clarity of exposition. The same essay may not be submitted for the Dahl Prize and the Rhoden Contest.
Essays must be submitted (in double-spaced format, hard copy only) to Linda Pardee, King 105 by noon on Friday, April 28. A prize of $150.00 will be awarded to the winner. The selection will be made by members of the Philosophy Department.
The Dahl Philosophy Prize is given “to recognize and encourage outstanding work in philosophy by undergraduates at Oberlin College.” The endowed Dahl Philosophy Prize Fund was established by members and friends of the Dahl family, and its prize is awarded annually by the Department of Philosophy.
