Power-Related Network Outages Campus Wide - March 8, 1:33 PM

Oberlin College began experiencing widespread power outages on campus beginning on Wednesday, March 8 at 1:33 PM and the CIT data center is being transitioned to backup generator power. As a result, various CIT network services may be suspended to conserve power until normal power is restored. Technical staff are actively working on the problem.

Updates will be posted to CIT's System Status page as more information becomes available.

Update (2:00 PM): Affected buildings and services include:
Conservatory
Finney
Cox
Science Center

Update (2:25 PM): Power has been restored to Mudd. High winds caused the outage from the north substation. High wind conditions are expected to continue throughout the day, Wednesday, March 8. Users should be prepared for the possibility of additional outages.

Update (3:00 PM): Affected buildings and services include:
Bailey
Barrows
Cox
East
Finney
Goldsmith/Union Housing
Kahn
Langston
Mudd
Philips
Science Center
Severance
Zechiel

Update (3:13 PM): Normal power has been restored to all north campus locations and network services are online in the aforementioned buildings.
