Violent Incident Strategies--Active Shooter Defenses/Response Options A.L.i.C.E. Training (ALiCE stands for Alert, Lockdown, inform, Counter, Evacuate)
The offices of Safety and Security and Environmental Health and Safety are sponsoring on-campus training and skills practice for this current topic of interest. Learn to apply survival skills you can use in the workplace, office, classroom, or campus setting as well as other settings common to daily life. Each two-hour session will provide tools and strategies for personal survival in the minutes prior to police arrival in response to a violent incident.
Fall Break Sessions:
- Tuesday, October 20, 1 to 3:15 p.m., King 239
- Wednesday, October 21, 9 to 11:15 a.m., King 239
- Thursday, October 22, 1 to 3:15 p.m., King 239
Sessions are limited to 35 people. Please register before the scheduled class takes place. RSVP with session choice to firstname.lastname@example.org. (Where applicable, arrange optimal time with your college supervisor.)
We are offering this set of training sessions to faculty members initially and can extend the offering to faculty office staff members who did not take our earlier offerings last year where we have additional space available. While basic skills are common to all settings, these sessions will be presented with a concentration on classrooms and other work and social settings.
Sessions start promptly at the announced time in order to cover needed information. Refreshments will not be provided for these sessions. Please bring your own beverage or snacks. Additional sessions will be offered as Fall Semester continues.
