Change in Traffic Pattern for Move - In Morning and Returning Students
Aug. 20, 2015
A temporary change of the traffic patterns to accommodate managing the return of Oberlin College students will occur on Tuesday, August 25 from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm. This change was requested by Oberlin College and approved by the City. Campus Safety and Security officers will manage 10-minute parking/unloading zones in front of many of our residence halls on campus to allow students and their parents to unload their belongings before moving to longer-term parking in College parking lots.
Woodland Street will become one-way northbound during this time period and Union Street will become eastbound from Woodland Street to Professor Street. During this time, there will be no parking on the west side of Woodland Street and temporary attended parking on the east side. There will be additional areas for short-term parking to unload on two-way streets: North Professor, West College, and Elm Streets.
You may experience heavier than normal traffic on both Tuesday and Wednesday while parents still participate in the College Orientation programming with our first year students. Beginning on Saturday, August 29, returning upperclassmen and women will return to the residence halls but should be taking advantage of campus parking lots normally in use during the business week.
Although there may be arrivals outside of our planned times, Oberlin Colleges is planning for the heaviest traffic times that can be predicted. We thank you for your patience during this annual Orientation event.
