Two Opportunities Remain for Emergency Training
Nov. 18, 2013
The offices of Safety and Security and Environmental Health and Safety are sponsoring on-campus training and skills practice in the area of an Emergency Planning Focus: Violent Incident Strategies—Shots Fired on Campus. This is a narrow-focus training to learn to apply strategies for personal survival prior to police arrival in response to a violent incident. The skills are applicable to use in the workplace, office, classroom or campus setting, as well as other settings common to daily life.
Each 2-hour session addresses skills relating to office or classroom with a focus for the upcoming two sessions on staff settings. Classroom and office settings will become the focus of future trainings offered during winter -term and in the spring. Specific trainings for larger departments or departments collectively housed in specific buildings may also be arranged. Two trainings remain this semester:
Wednesday, December 11, 2013—1 pm to 3 pm
Thursday, December 12, 2013 — 9 am to 11 am Wilder Hall Room 101
Sessions are limited to 40 people; please pre-register and arrange optimal time with your College supervisor if you are an employee.
To register and for more information on the training classes, contact Assistant Director of Safety and Security Clif Barnes at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 440-775-5776.
