CIT identifies workaround for Java, Banner issue

CIT has identified a manual work-around for the issue causing Banner users working on Macintosh computers running Mac OS 10.6 or higher to be unable to use Banner.
That solution has been posted on our CIT Wiki (citwiki.oberlin.edu) today, 01 February 2013. Go to the Java box and click on the Java Fix Page.
We, in CIT, are also working to automate this solution as much as possible, and hope to have a program available soon to do just that. When available, details will be posted on the CIT Wiki.
Meanwhile, all users who have already contacted CIT are being visited by CIT staff today, who are manually applying the fix. So, if you have already called the CIT Help Desk, or informed others within CIT of your inability to use one of the above programs, we should be visiting you today to resolve this issue.
It should be noted that this is a temporary solution. When a more permanent solution becomes available, we will post that information.
