On Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at approximately 10:19 p.m., a student reported an unknown subject entered his room. He appeared to have been going room to room on the second floor of East Hall, taking small electronic devices. After conversing with the male student, the suspect became confrontational and a scuffle ensued. The suspect dropped the stolen items along with an unloaded BB-gun, and then fled on foot. The suspect has been described as a young white male, red hair, tan with freckles, spoke with a southern accent, wearing a yellow shirt, and carrying a black backpack.

The Oberlin Police Department was contacted immediately and is investigating the incident.
