Winter Term Registration Deadline: Dec. 2

If you are on campus, Winter Term Registration Forms will be available in the Office of the Registrar beginning November 1. The deadline to submit a completed form to the Registrar is Friday, December 2, 2011.

If you are not on campus, obtain your winter term sponsor's approval by email. In your email to the sponsor, please include the required information listed below. Your sponsor should forward your e-mail with his or her approval to registrar@oberlin.edu.

PLEASE NOTE: The registrar’s Office will not accept your form or an e-mail if you have not completed the required information. Please take the time to complete the form before turning it in.

The following information is REQUIRED ON YOUR Winter Term Registration Form:

  1. Your T# and name

  2. The year of the project (2012)

  3. The Project Course information:

    • CRN (Course Reference Number) CRNs are listed for all Winter Term projects at: http://new.oberlin.edu/dotAsset/1622758.html Four unique CRNs are assigned to each sponsor: one for on-campus group projects, one for on-campus individual projects, one for off-campus group projects, and one for off-campus individual projects. You must select the correct CRN if you want to have credit awarded for the project. The CRN is linked to the course number and is how we confirm with your sponsor that you completed your project.
    • The department of your sponsor. (e.g. English)
    • Your sponsor’s name (Print Clearly)
  4. Type of project:

    • On or off campus, individual or group

    • Full or Half credit

5.Project Title: The title can be no more than 30 characters (including spaces).

6.If you entered Oberlin BEFORE the fall semester of 2007: you must also indicate a category: Academic, Field Experience or Personal Growth and Development

7.If your project involves at least 7 days of work outside the US: check the box to indicate that this is an International Winter term Project.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE FOR 2012 WINTER TERM PROJECTS: FRIDAY DECEMBER 2, 2011. NO LATE FORMS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

DO NOT DELAY SECURING APPROVAL FROM YOUR SPONSOR FOR A WINTER TERM. FAILURE TO OBTAIN YOUR SPONSOR’S SIGNATURE IS NOT A VALID REASON FOR MISSING THE DEADLINE. PLAN AHEAD; DO NOT ASSUME YOUR SPONSOR WILL BE AVAILABLE ON DECEMBER 2.

Please note: Oberlin students must complete three winter term projects in order to receive the bachelor’s degree. (unless you entered as a transfer student, in which case you must complete a comparable number of projects given the number of semesters in residence at Oberlin.) Winter term projects are graded as “Y” or “N” (Yes successfully completed, Not successfully completed.) No Oberlin credit hours are awarded for winter term projects, therefore the semester GPA will not reflect any credit hours completed.
