Joanna Johnson '11 Wins NCAC Cross Country Title

The Oroville, California, Mercury-Register reported that Oberlin’s Joanna Johnson ’11 placed first in the North Coast Athletic Conference cross country championships held October 28 at Kenyon College. Johnson covered the 6,000-meter course in 22 minutes, 48 seconds, to win by 11 seconds and claim Runner of the Year honors, as well as Newcomer of the Year honors as the top freshman finisher. She led the Yeowomen to a second-place finish in the team standings with 59 points, just one point behind conference champion Allegheny College.
